課程概述 |
This course is not a training course for any specific GIS software but an introduction course to spatial information processing. The fundamentals of GIS will be discussed including its capability, limitations, applications, and related technologies. Students will be asked to do literature review on GIS related papers; Hand-on experience will also be accumulated through homework, in-class presentation and discussions.
本課程為地理資訊系統入門，介紹空間資料特性、地理資訊系統基本知識、原理與技術，包括其功能、限制、應用及相關議題，作為進一步空間資料分析之基礎。本課程雖不是專為特定軟體之操作訓練，但將採用ESRI 之ArcView 為實習與作業之基礎工具，課程中將提供ArcView trial version及相關基本操作介紹與資料。學生將經由作業與實習得到空間資料輸入、數化、編輯、輸出等相關經驗，並瞭解GIS相關之應用可能。 |

課程目標 |
Get acquaintance with the characteristics of spatial data and understand the basic knowledge of geographic information systems, principles and technology.
Gain experiences for input/edit/analysis/display of spatial data through homework and practices as well as the capacity building for spatial thinking and problem solving.
學生將經由作業與實習得到空間資料輸入、數化、編輯、輸出等相關經驗，並瞭解地理資訊系統基本知識、原理與技術。 |
